As a business, Enable Midstream was doing poorly ensuring that requisitions and POs were released in a timely manner—this was a result of too many other obligations that kept people away from their computers. The company needed a way to release requisitions/POs that didn’t require the use of a computer. Not being on HANA, we knew we would be restricted by out-of-the-box apps.  For our solution, Enable is using SAP standard requisition and PO release applications through Fiori. Enable has achieved “single sign-on” and custom workflow was built because we have 8 release levels and 250 approvers. The results from this project: very happy users and shorter procure to pay time.

Chesapeake Energy is still in the early stages when it comes to the application of AI and RPA solutions and is exploring a few different opportunities to pair the technologies together. Some early ideas include using machine learning to determine AP invoice coding and then using RPA to code them in SAP and combining big data analytics and RPA to confirm marketing inbound trade confirmations.
